Meet the Parents

Maggie is a beautiful F1 Bernedoodle who lives with a wonderful guardian home in Orange County, CA. She has exceeded our expectations with her amazing, laidback and easy going temperament. She enjoys pack walks with Sol Dog Walking. Here is her personality description from her guardian home family:

Anna – 7 years old. Maggie is super funny and the best dog I’ve ever had. She makes very human expressions and she is very snugly too. She’s a picky eater. She’s competitive because she always steals the spot on the couch next to mom. She is so friendly with all my friends.

Bennett – 10 years old. Maggie is playful whenever we engage her, but otherwise she just chills and I like that. She’s mostly an indoor dog, but loves the outdoors and the back yard. She can be stubborn to want to go outside and keeps asking but does not want to come back in all the time. She’s caring and stays with us whenever we are sick.

Beth/mom: Maggie is the best doggie friend I needed and we are very connected. She is never far from me and always happy to cuddle when I’m resting. Although she would go everywhere with me, she is fine at home without ever crating and won’t chew anything. She loves her routines. Daily beach/trail walks, play with kids, and car rides are among her favorites and not to be skipped. She loved her pack walks with other dogs and learned so much from them early on that training was a breeze. She is smart and is obsessed with her humans. She loves to cuddle but then moves to her own space for rest and sleep. She is food motivated only if it’s the best food she’s ever tasted. She will pass on carrots for steak and prefers berries over apples. When friends come, she is very excited but has come so far and rarely jumps anymore to greet them! We are so proud of her and so grateful as she perfectly completes our family. Our neighbors and friends are also attached to Maggie and enjoy seeing her and giving her pets on the daily.

Myrtle is our very first “keeper,” our homegrown girl from our Bella and Charlie “Famous Beaches” themed multi-gen standard Bernedoodle litter. I had been waiting for a long time to hold back one of our puppies for our breeding program, and there were many things for which I was looking and waiting. Myrtle was the perfect pup at the perfect time. Myrtle brings together the awesome qualities of both her parents. She is a wonderful family dog, loving and loyal. She has a silly side and is good with children and other dogs. She does have a selectively shy/reserved side like her mom, Bella, who we love so much and is one of the best dogs I’ve ever had. Her guardian home family lives less than 10 minutes away from us, and they absolutely adore her and take such great care of her. She has a gorgeous, soft, and manageable wavy coat. We are so proud of Myrtle!

Reba is our F1b red and white tuxedo Bernedoodle. She is adored by her guardian home family, excellent with their children, and calm. She is docile, not assertive, but gentle and sweet. Loves car rides, walks, and trips to the beach with her family and Goldendoodle “brother” Theo. She is the future mom of our multi-gen, medium-sized Bernedoodles in 2026. Here is what her guardian home mom wrote about her:

“Reba is a sweet, loving, and well tempered dog. She is the perfect addition to our family. She is always by our side and loves to cuddle. She is a perfect mix of puppy energy when it’s playtime, but also loves to relax by just chewing on a bone. Her sweet temperament is very apparent when she interacts with the kids. They love on her frequently with hugs and pets. Reba easily became best friends with our older labradoodle, Theo, and loves meeting new dogs when we go on walks. She is very smart and a good learner. We are so happy she is a part of our family and look forward to all the adventures we will have with her.”

Reba is CLEAR by parentage of 197 genetic diseases Embark tests for, including all that are breed related to poodles and Bernese Mountain dogs:

OFA Hip rating: Good joint conformation.

OFA elbows normal. OFA cardiac normal. OFA thyroid normal. 🙌

Reba weighs: 33 lbs.

Harper is an F1b blonde Bernedoodle with a beautiful soft coat and wonderful Bernese-like mannerism and sensibilities. She is loving, without being pushy; human focused, but independent as well. She was such an easy puppy to raise and loves humans and other dogs. Her big brown eyes and lengthy lashes will melt your heart. Harper joined our family in the fall of 2024, and we are incredibly grateful to have her sweet spirit. She was the perfect fit and adjusted seamlessly to our pack. She and Lilah are best buddies. She is excellent on leash, knows many commands, and provides love and comfort to everyone who meets her. She is our darling little polar bear.

HEALTH RESULTS:

Harper is CLEAR of all breed-relevant genetic diseases by parentage through Embark Dog DNA Testing plus Animal Genetics testing. This means that since both of her parents are tested and clear, she is clear. Because Embark does not give clear results for CDDY and CDPA, we tested Harper through Animal Genetics and she was clear of both of those as well. Harper’s protein creatinine ration and CBC super chem blood chem were also normal.

OFA hips – good hip conformation and no radiographic evidence of dysplasia.

OFA elbows, cardiac, and thyroid all normal. 🙌

Harper is 35 lbs.

Millie ~ Millie is Harper’s full sister form the same litter. She is a tri-color parti F1b Bernedoodle. We love whenever Millie comes to visit. She is sweet, affable, and an all-around good girl. From Millie’s amazing guardian home: “Millie is a sweet, wonderful, family-oriented dog. Always happy and eager to please her humans while still being confident and independent too. She loves getting cuddles from anyone and everyone. Belly rubs are her favorite. A medium energy dog she enjoys exploring all over the backyard, hunting for lizards, and loves playing chase with her big sister Myrtle. Her antics make us giggle. She likes to look out the window whether perched on the back of the sofa, or sitting on top of her crate. She will snuggle up inside her soft toy bin especially after a bath. She prances like a show dog when she walks on leash. She loves to play with other dogs but will come back to our side when called. Very intelligent and highly trainable. Millie is a delight and has been one of the best additions to our family.”

DADS

Kelso is our AKC Bernese Mountain Dog stud. He hails from an excellent AKC Bernese breeder in the U.S. who has been breeding Berners for more than 25 years. Her dogs have 10-13 year lifespans, which is way above average for the breed. (Kelso is the son of Murphy, who came from this same breeder. Murphy sired a handful of our litters and passed on his amazing temperament and striking good looks onto them.) Kelso is perfectly marked and structured. He is calm, obedient, loyal and loving to his family, gentle with children, friendly to everyone he meets, loves to cuddle on the couch with his amazing guardian home mama, goofy at times, and smart enough to avoid his feline roommates!

HEALTH RESULTS:

Kelso has passed genetic testing through Paw Print Genetics as well as prelim OFA hips, elbows, thyroid, and cardiac, plus CBC blood chem and protein creatinine ratio for overall health, immunity, kidneys, liver, etc. and sired several amazing litters for us thus far.

Kelso is 75 lbs.

Theo is our multi-gen Bernedoodle traditional tri-color stud that is on the smaller side of medium at 35 lbs. He is 40% Bernese – which is a little less Bernese than an F1 Bernedoodle, and significantly more Bernese than an F1b. Theo hails from an excellent breeder friend of mine in Utah whose health testing standards are similar to mine as well as her emphasis on temperament and intentionality in puppy raising. He is a precious little pup that brings his guardian home family so much joy. His mom works at a local preparatory school, and Theo accompanies her to work every day, which speaks of his wonderful temperament, training, and friendly personality. He will often wait patiently in his mom’s office if she has to step out for a bit. He is quite the Mr. Popular at the school, and might even be their unofficial mascot haha! Theo has three human/kid siblings that love him very much, and a Doodle older brother named Oscar. The two have become great friends.

RETIRED

We want to honor our wonderful sires and dams who have retired by listing them here:

RETIRED ~ Our beautiful girl, Daisy, is an AKC standard, black and white parti poodle. She is laid back yet athletic, with high ball drive. She loves her tennis ball, even diving into the swimming pool to retrieve it. Daisy hails from UKC champions and fly ball champions. She has so much color and quality in her pedigree, and has one of the best temperaments in a dog we’ve ever been blessed to have. Daisy enjoys car rides, walks, hikes, swimming, playing with her siblings, food, and curling up to sleep next to us — even in inconvenient places. This one definitely has my husband’s heart. When he says “my girl,” it always takes me a second to remember he’s not talking about me or our daughters, but Daisy! 🙂

Degenerative Myelopathy – Normal/clear; Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures – Normal/clear; Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degnenation – Normal/clear; Von Willebrand Disease I – Normal/clear

Hips and Elbows: OFA rating: Fair Joint Conformation; PennHip: Distraction index much better than average for the breed. No radiographic evidence of Osteoarthritis. No radiographic evidence of Osteoarthritis.

Full Thyroid, CBC, and urine protein creatinine ratio: All normal. 🙌

Daisy is 45 lbs.

RETIRED ~ Ruby is an AKC standard, brown and tan phantom poodle with the softest hair I have ever felt on a poodle—it’s like cashmere and so easy to groom. Her phantom markings and her hazel eyes are quite stunning. Ruby also comes from UKC and fly ball champions. She is very loving, loyal, eager to please, and excellent at “manding,” which is to sit, make eye contact, and wait for her next instruction. She knows about a dozen commands and hardly ever barks. Any time day or night, Ruby loves to stare deeply into your eyes and get pets and cuddles. She is an excellent mom and we throws beautiful colors.

Degenerative Myelopathy – Normal/clear; Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures – Normal/clear; Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration – Normal/clear; Von Willebrand Disease I – Normal/clear

Hips and Elbows: OFA rating: Good Joint Conformation; PennHip: Distraction index much better than average for the breed. No radiographic evidence of Osteoarthritis.

Full Thyroid, CBC, and urine protein creatinine ratio: All normal. 🙌

Ruby is 44 lbs.

RETIRED ~ Charlie sired three beautiful litters for us (our F1b standard “Marvel” themed litter and two standard multigen litters with Bella), and is now retired. He lives with his wonderful guardian/forever home in Granada Hills, CA. Charlie’s mom is an AKC Bernese Mountain Dog who passed all genetic screenings, and his dad is an AKC standard, brown and white parti poodle who has passed all health testing including a good PennHip score. Charlie is the best boy, and everything we could hope for, temperament wise. He is well-mannered, great with people and other dogs, and lives with his loving guardian family who gets stopped wherever they go by people who want to know what Charlie is and where he came from! Charlie throws tri-color, brown, black, yellow, red, and parti colors. He’s a star!

Degenerative Myelopathy (Bernese Mountain Dog Type) – Normal/clear; Degenerative Myelopathy – Carrier (only an issue if bred to a female that is also a carrier, and none of our females are carriers); Von Willebrand Disease I – Normal/clear; GM2 Gangliosidosis (Poodle Type) – Normal/clear; Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures – Normal/clear; Osteochondrodysplasia – Normal/clear; Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration – Normal/clear 🙌

Hips and Elbows: OFA rating: Good Joint Conformation; PennHip: Close to the median on the distraction index for Bernese Mountain dogs. No radiographic evidence of Osteoarthritis.🙌

Thyroid and urinalysis normal. 🙌

Charlie is 68 lbs.

RETIRED ~ Bella is a tri-color, phantom parti F1b Bernedoodle. Her personality, temperament, and mannerisms are much more like her Bernese Mountain Dog side than her poodle side. As a young pup, Bella learned the most commands more quickly than any dog I’ve ever been blessed to have. She’s calm and loving, tall and statuesque. She comes near for cuddles and follows me wherever I go, but she is independent as well. Her coat is more of what you’d expect an F1 bernedoodle to have. It’s soft with a surprisingly loose wave/curl for an F1b doodle, who usually have super curly coats. Bella is an awesome mom and passes her wonderful qualities along to her pups.

HEALTH RESULTS:

Degenerative Myelopathy (Bernese Mountain Dog Type) – Normal/clear; Degenerative Myelopathy – Normal/clear; Von Willebrand Disease I – Normal/clear; GM2 Gangliosidosis (Poodle Type) – Normal/clear; Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures – Normal/clear; Osteochondrodysplasia – Normal/clear; Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration – Normal/clear

Full Thyroid, CBC, and urine protein creatinine ratio: All normal. 🙌

Bella is 64 lbs.

RETIRED ~ Kiara is a tri-color phantom parti F1b Bernedoodle. She is Bella’s full sister from a different litter (they have the same parents). Kiara is loving, athletic, and calm, just like her sister Bella. She is super smart and has completed the K-9 Answers dog training program. Kiara is terrific with children. She adores her guardian home family, and they adore her right back. She is loyal, laid back, and passes these qualities onto her pups.

Kiara is 42 lbs.

RETIRED ~ Maximillion is our tri-color, medium-sized, multi-gen Bernedoodle stud and a friend to everyone he meets. He is smart, cuddly, loving, and has a goofy side. He lives with an amazing guardian home who tells us that he loves to give hugs and to go on walks (he is great on leash) and car rides. He hardly ever barks, which is always a plus! Max has completed a three-week board and train with Les Pawtounes.

Max has a small percentage (5.65%) of golden mountain doodle in his genetics, which accounts for his trainable and happy nature. “This adorable hybrid first came into existence at SwissRidge Kennels in 2013. [It] is made up of a golden retriever, Bernese mountain dog and poodle. This cross blends the clever, yet amusing side of the poodle with the placid, loyal, loving nature of the golden retriever and Bernese mountain dog. Most golden mountain doodles are low- to non-shedding and are a safe bet for most people with allergies.” The golden mountain doodle was bred originally by SwissRidge Kennels in Canada because the owner wanted to counter the stubborn tendencies that Bernese Mountain dog can have by breeding back in the happy-go-lucky, eager-to-please nature of the golden retriever.

Emma has completed a five-week board and train with K9 Answers and exceeded our expectations! She is excellent on leash and her recall is great.
